Privacy Policy for Focal

Overview

Focal ("the App," "we," "our," or "us") is a productivity and focus timer application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use Focal.

Information We Do Not Collect

Focal does not collect, process, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal identifiers (name, email address, phone number)
• User accounts or login credentials
• Location data
• Contacts, photos, or media
• Analytics or usage data
• Crash reports or diagnostic data
• Advertising identifiers
• Any data shared with third parties

Focal has no backend server, no user account system, and does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.

How Your Data Is Stored

Any data Focal creates — such as your focus session history, timer settings, streaks, or preferences — is stored locally on your device only, using standard iOS storage mechanisms (e.g., UserDefaults or on-device local storage). This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is not transmitted to us or any third party
• Is not accessible to us in any form
• Is deleted automatically if you delete the app from your device

If Focal supports iCloud sync of your local data across your own devices, that data is transmitted through Apple's iCloud infrastructure under your Apple ID and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to this data. (Remove this paragraph if Focal does not use iCloud/CloudKit sync.)

In-App Purchases

Focal offers an optional in-app purchase to unlock Pro features. This purchase is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit and your App Store account.

• We do not collect, see, store, or have access to your payment information (card numbers, billing address, Apple ID, etc.)
• Apple handles all transaction processing under its own Privacy Policy
• Focal only receives a confirmation that the purchase was completed, which is stored locally on your device to unlock Pro features. This confirmation is not linked to any personal or payment information and is not transmitted anywhere.

Device Permissions

Focal may request the following device permission:

• Notifications — to alert you when a focus session or timer completes. This permission is optional and can be managed in your device Settings at any time.

Focal does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, health data, or photo library. (Update this list if Focal requests any additional permissions.)

Children's Privacy

Focal does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the App collects no data at all, it is safe for use by users of any age with respect to data privacy.

Third-Party Services

Focal does not integrate any third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, or tracking. If this changes in a future update, this policy will be updated accordingly, and the update will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality. Any changes will be posted here with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of Focal after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
